Wellington Design Day 2026: Connection, Creativity, and Conversation

On Thursday 18th June, Wellington Design Day brought together some of the city's most inspiring creative minds, and we were delighted to be part of it right from our home at the Wellington Design Library.

For those who haven't visited us yet, our VidaSpace showroom sits upstairs within the Wellington Design Library at 282 Thorndon Quay, Pipitea. The WDL is a remarkable institution, operating since 1997 as an independent reference library and interior design haven housing more than 800 of the world's most prestigious design and textile brands. It draws designers, architects, retailers and tastemakers from across the country seeking inspiration and products for all kinds of creative projects. From lush textiles and fabrics to furniture, wall coverings, flooring and trimmings, the WDL is constantly evolving to offer the latest releases each season.

What makes the Wellington Design Library such a special place to call home is its genuinely collaborative spirit. We share the space with likeminded supplier brands spanning textiles, hardware and beyond, and that sense of community runs through everything. It is the kind of environment that makes ideas flow naturally.

Wellington Design Day embodied that spirit beautifully. Throughout the day we had the pleasure of connecting with designers and creatives from Wellington and further afield, sharing meaningful conversations about design, materials, and the direction our industry is heading. These are the exchanges that remind us why we love what we do.

We came away energised by the talent and passion in Wellington's design community, and grateful for every conversation had and connection made.
