For three decades Powersurge have produced bespoke metal works for some of New Zealand’s most design-forward commercial spaces and beautiful homes. Led by power couple Andrea Harradine and Todd Stevenson, together with their team of talented artisan craftsmen, Powersurge unites artistic vision with engineering excellence.

Crafting refined pieces inspired by Aotearoa's landscape, Powersurge channels the raw beauty of metal into a refined, signature look. Each piece is handcrafted to guarantee exceptional quality and meticulous attention to detail.

VidaSpace have been long-time admirers of Powersurge, and the parallels between the two businesses are strikingly clear. Both New Zealand family-run businesses with a design-led ethos, and unwavering devotion to craftsmanship, innovation, and natural materials.

We first had the pleasure of formally collaborating with Powersurge in 2019 when we unveiled our newly completed flagship showroom in Parnell, Auckland. Powersurge had recently launched their Home Collection of artisanal brass homewares, lighting, mirrors, and handles, which was a significant move for the business that had previously focussed primarily on custom work. The Home Collection range was a perfect fit for our space as the brass finishes beautifully balance our timber textures.

Timber and metal finishes naturally complement each other through their shared authenticity and contrasting characteristics. Both are raw, elemental materials – timber brings warmth, texture, and organic variation, while metal offers strength, sheen, and precision. Together, they create a balanced aesthetic where softness meets structure, and natural imperfection pairs with refined detail. This makes timber and metal a timeless combination in interior design, offering depth, contrast, and enduring harmony.

Working alongside renowned architects and designers, Powersurge’s work features in distinguished homes and commercial spaces across the country. Visiting Powersurge’s studio and workshop in West Auckland highlights their special blend of imaginative creativity and meticulous craftsmanship. With the visionary leadership of Todd – an inventive genius, and Andrea – an artistic mastermind, Powersurge is truly a “Factory of Ideas”. Collaborating with them sparked creative energy and inspiration at every step, so we featured Powersurge in an episode of our Ambitious Design Series – we couldn’t name a more fitting partner to connect with in our pursuit of empowering ambitious design.

Our most notable collaboration with Powersurge to date is undoubtedly the VidaSpace Christchurch Showroom, completed in 2024, a finalist in the 2025 Interior Awards, and featured in Home Magazine April/May 2025 edition. Our Christchurch showroom features a curated selection of Powersurge brass cabinetry handles, door hardware, mirrors, lighting, and bespoke pieces.
