Meet the VidaSpacers is your behind-the-scenes pass to what makes us tick. Because VidaSpace isn’t just built on products or projects – it’s built on people. And it’s those individual stories, passions, and quirks that come together to define who we are.
Kicking off the series is the Auckland Spec Squad – Fran, Emily & Madi – who each jumped into a quick-fire Q&A (no overthinking allowed).
Emily has a long-standing track record in the interiors industry and spends her days supporting clients in Auckland, Hamilton, and Hawke’s Bay, as well as championing our team nationwide as our Spec Team Leader. Outside of work, Emily loves getting into nature, maintaining a plethora of random hobbies, and obsessing over her staffy Kemba.
My favourite product is and has always been our Smoked Arabica veneer. I love mid-century design and the warmth and depth of colour in Arabica works so well in these projects.
I love bugs. I think they're so cool! I have a soft spot for wetas and have found one in my bed no less than 3 times so far.
My favourite café is Hare and Turtle, and my favourite dinner spot is Ralph's! The food is amazing, but it's the people that really keep me coming back.
My Nanny wrote me a note when I was little that I still have that says "It's nice to be important, but it's important to be nice" which I still sing-song in my head every now and then.
I have quite a mix depending on my mood and activity! This week it has been ‘Talk of the Town’ by Fred Again and ‘Someone I Could Love’ by Charlotte Cardin.

Fran works on a multitude of projects nationwide alongside managing our flagship Auckland showroom. Bringing a touch of expertise and class to everything she does, Fran plays a big part in making things run smoothly. When she isn’t working, you can find Fran tackling home renos and doting on her two orange cats Billy & Alfie.
We spend so much of our time at work so I feel very lucky to work in such a tight knit team with amazing people, and to have built great relationships with so many incredible clients.

Madi looks after our clients from Northland right down to the Bay of Plenty, so it’s lucky she’s full of zest. With a flair for fashion and design, Madi is an expert in joinery and panel products so she’s often our go-to for her knowledge and above-average banter.
Building relationships where people specify us for us, not just the product. Anyone can sell timber but getting trusted to solve problems quickly (and actually delivering on that) is the part I rate.
Slow morning, good coffee, maybe a cheeky pie. A bit of structure is important so I feel productive, nothing over planned, just give me good company and good food (oh also a spritz wouldn't hurt).
Levain for my weekend coffee and pie fix and Hello Beasty for something a bit nicer.
Comparison is the thief of joy. Or, like, anything Yoda has to say.
What's not on my playlist? It ranges from typical Gen Z at a rave to old man at a whiskey bar. Right now: ‘Mr Bubbles’ - The Ruminaters.
