George Nakashima - The respect Nakashima has for timber shows through in his timeless designs. His philosophy was that each tree has a distinctly different personality, and the woodworker has a responsibility to use all of their skill to strive for perfection in each creation.
I love that every plank is unique within the grain /texture /colour and the fact that it’s a natural, sustainable material. I also find working with timber to be a cathartic experience whether its installing a timber floor, sanding/coating timber or making furniture. European oak in particular lends itself to so many different staining/coating/finishing applications making it an interesting product to work with.
The Oscar Ono Forêt, I find it to be a unique product which captures a traditional look that can be used in a modern/contemporary setting.
